It's official: I hate plastic knitting needles!!!

This is the second time that I've broken a plastic knitting needle. I'm not even a tight knitter!!! >_<
So, now I'm working on my panda hat using double-pointed needles of 3 different sizes. Good work.


P.S.: I'm knitting as fast as I can! (That's when I have the time...)

Cheap Stainless Steel Circular Knitting Needles

Ok everyone, this is just a quick one before I get back to my assignment. Here are a set of stainless steel circular knitting needles that I bought on eBay a while ago. The parcel has just arrived! :)

It's about 24 inches long and the set includes sizes from UK 6-16. The best thing about the needles is that each packet comes with a tapestry needle and what looks like a needle gauge. So now, I have 10 extra tapestry needles and 10 new needle gauges. Sweet.

I am so glad that I persisted in the bidding on eBay. The shipping was free and I won the bidding at 10.50AUD, which I thought was really cheap for circular needles! Lucky~


I have opened it up and the needles didn't feel too smooth, which is good because I wouldn't wish for the yarn to slip off the needles too easily. Ahh!!! Right now I am so excited about knitting a bag with one of these. But first, I need to get back to my school work.

Easter break is here!!! Oh god, oh god.

I've been waiting for Easter to come so that I can start givin' some more lovin' to my craftin'.

First up! The absolutely gorgeous Millefoglie yarn that I bought from Spotlight last year during their sale. I only got one ball because the other few balls left were in a pathetic mess from all the rummaging. Geez, I really can't stop admiring it at all. 

This yarn is made up of different yarns of various texture and material. I added little pearls with an orange/pink undertone to the section of plain red yarn. I think it really gave it some extra special quality to it. What do you think?

As I was winding and unwinding the ball of yarn while spacing out the little pearls, I realised that the ball of yarn became a little heart-shaped ball! Ah, perhaps this is the sign of a good start? (n_n)

Hopefully I will be able to get some 7mm knitting needles from Vinnies tomorrow and start casting on soon. I've been wanting to cast this yarn on for so long!

(When I enter 'Millefoglie' into Google, pictures of some tasty sweet pastry comes up. I've never tried it before but now I'd like to!)

Failed experiment! :(

The other day my mum was asking me to help her make some boiled eggs. No, it wasn't that something went wrong with the eggs. 

As I was going to pour the boiling hot water down the sink, I suddenly had the idea of trying to transform my useless broken 3.25mm plastic knitting needles into a bangle like the ones made by Liana Kabel (here). It was a complete failure! What I got what was an incomplete circle with kinky bends. I didn't even manage to make it into the diameter of my wrist. (=_=)''
