Before long

Hey everyone, I know that I haven't been posting very frequently this December. I have just been really tired from uni stuff. I am also currently suffering from a severe case of Hong Kong sloth*. But if you are following my Tumblr blog, you will know that I have been knitting a collar thingy using a yarn with sequins. It's now finished but I just need time to take pictures and write the pattern that I will be sharing with everyone!

So, this is just a post to say a quick hi to everyone. Also, check out my new sunglasses from ASOS! They just arrived today! (^_^)

*If you didn't get the joke about the Hong Kong sloth, then you probably have never watched Boy Meets World... (Check out 1.36 of the video below)

Boo Hoo Hoo! :(

Hello all, I am really sorry about the lack of posts this week! I actually have so much to show you guys this week. But there has been some problems with our phone connection which has implicated our internet connection. I am currently writing this post at the public library... (-_-x)

I really hope that the internet connection will be up again by next week! I have a knitted shawl, a painted tee, a clay project and another refashioned tee tutorial to show all of you! Stay tuned and have a grrreat weekend!

Fingers crossed. (^_^)

This is where I make my stuff

♥♥♥

I really LOVE this icon that I made last night. The colours, the faded vintage effect, the rounded edges, the cutest font ever... I could stare at this the whole day. (Hint: follow the links to try to create the same effect!)

Ok, sorry if I sound crazy, but this is the first time that I have made something like this! This is the first time that I am making something this fancy for my blog. My blog finally got a lot more serious!

*throws fists into the air, World Cup style

image: source

Whooo... World Cup fever is on the rise. But that's not the reason why I am rejoicing. My examinations have finally ended!!! Let's not talk about how I screwed up one paper and how I was late for another... =.=

The important thing is, I finally have more time on hand to materialise all the craft ideas that have been floating around in my head for ages. So, do check this space more often this month to see what I'm up to!
(That's to say that I don't get too depressed over my results when it comes out)

But, first on my to-do list for this hard-earned break:

1. Finish Season 8, 9 and 10 of Friends

2. Tidy my room

3. Watch Portugal vs. Brazil (maybe)

that's all folks!!!

No more crafting - for now

Hello to all my friends out there! First of all, I apologise for the lack of posts on the blog as I have been busy with my preparations for my study in Sydney.

I'm starting college over there really soon and I'm flying over like - TODAY.

So I'm afraid there may be lesser of crafting for now as I settle down. I couldn't even pack in my beads and my yarn! Boohoohoo...

But I still have projects that were yet published as they were only given to my friends recently. I hope that I will be able to put them up soon enough and meanwhile, take care!

lots of luff

P.S.: Kelly and Susie, keep on working those hooks and needles!

Threadless Tees for knitters

I like tee shirts with wacky taglines and cute graphics. Well, I've recently bought a tee from Surfers' Paradise that says, "I LEFT MY HEART IN AUSTRALIA". Though I have not been there - yet, it'll definitely come in handy when I return the next time!

Now, what I want is a tee that tells everybody else that I am a knitter! It'll be kind of crafty-cool.

Stayover with Weiwen and Amanda

I finally got to bunk in with Weiwen and Amanda in their hall last Friday! I know it's been almost a week but I've been rather busy lately to put up the photos and to write about it. Anyway, here goes!

First of all, I finally got the chance to give them the presents that I have knitted and crochet for them.

Please ignore the legs. Anyway it's not mine!

It's the Blanket Buddy as seen in 101 Designer One Skein Wonder and a Cupcake from BitterSweet. Actually I finished knitting the Blanket Buddy a long long time ago but never got around to fill up the head, embrioder the eyes and then give it to Amanda. The cupcake was an easier project that I finished in a single day.

The proud owners!

Hopefully Amanda will feel more comforted during her lonely nights in hall with the Blanket Buddy with her! And I certainly do not wish that Weiwen will get too tempted to eat the strawberry cupcake. She'll be choking on the whole furball!

Then we baked the whole night away in the hall's kitchen. Well, almost. It's supposed to be Weiwen's Double Chocolate Chip Cookie, but really it's simply a recipe she got somewhere and she added double the amount of chocolate chip required. There was so much cookie dough that we couldn't finish the entire batch that we baked that night! I'll try to post the recipe up soon. (^_^)

Hmmmmm...

This is my favourite piece (^_^)

Last but not least, I tried baking my cupcakes (yet again!) using the REAL oven in the hall kitchen. I thought it's gonna come out great. But it turned out HORRENDOUS, and this is not an exaggeration. The cupcakes was dark, flat, dense and tasted rubbery.

I wonder if it's the problem with the mixture or the heat. The mixture had turned all watery by the time we started pouring it into the paper cups. But it also could have been the heat settings of the oven. Don't tell me how high I set the oven, I really don't remember.

One thing that I have to say is that this is the WORST baking attempt ever for the cupcakes. I kept trying to explain to both Weiwen and Amanda that it really isn't supposed to turn out this way and I've made it 100 times better in my previous attempts using my toaster oven.

R is for Ravelry

I finally got an invitation from Ravelry!
Apparently my invitation was sent long ago in June this year. I think it went into my junk mail section instead. Thank goodness for the system where we can check for our invitation queue!
